Ray "the Rockhound" KopmanIt was during a visit to Phoenix in 1954 that I fell in love with the desert sunsets and cactus. I am fascinated with the living desert, rocks and other earthly treasures. I found that I love to recycle earth materials into one-of-a-kind creations. I took lessons to properly identify, cut and polish rocks into precious stones. Then I had to learn silversmithing to put my gemstones into jewelry. Now, I consider myself a semi-professional crafter-jewelry designer. I have written for the nation-wide Rock and Gem Magazine and the Arizona Highways magazine. My vocation is also my hobby, that hopefully, brings joy to all.I encourage all my fellow seniors to seek a hobby to fill their lives. |
